Opera Gala is a grand concert that will commemorate the 70th anniversary of the Sarajevo Opera and will mark the beginning of the new 2016/2017 season.
The concert will be a wonderful journey through the rich history of this opera house and, while it is the main jubilee event for the National Theater’s opera company, it won’t be the only one taking place over the coming weeks.
Thirty-three artists who have made enormous contributions to the development of the Sarajevo Opera over the decades will take to the stage, including Gertruda Munitić, Radmila Smiljanić, Amila Bakšić, Milica Buljubašić, Vjera Mikić Miranović, Ivica Šarić, Sead Buljubašić, Aida Čorbadžić....
Soloists, members of the company’s chorus and the Sarajevo Philharmonic Orchestra will perform selected works by Wagner, Mozart, Verdi, Rossini, Puccini, Bizet, Tchaikovsky, Borodin…, all under the direction of the following conductors: Teodor Romanić, Miroslav Homen, Ognjen Bomoštar, Dario Vučić and Danijel Žontar.
