Skakavac Trail

The Željezničar Mountain Climbing Association will be organizing Skakavac Trail 2017 (October 7), an international race held at Skakavac Nature Park.

The event comprises two mountain bike races that follow routes around Mt. Ozren and finish at the Red Cross mountain cabin at Jošanički Potok in Vogošća.

The first race covers 32 km (1270-m ascent) and starts at 9:00 a.m. in front of the Hidrogradnja mountain cabin at Čavljak. The course is worth 2 ITRA points (UTMB Qualifier) and takes at most 10 hours to complete. It passes Donje Biosko, Crepolsko and Bukovik and joins the other shorter course at Uževica on Nahorevo.

The shorter 18-km race (830-m ascent) starts at 11:00 a.m. at Uževica, at the Promaja cabin. The course takes six hours to complete and passes Skakavac Waterfall (98 m), drops down to Perački Potok then climbs up to Bosnian bear habitat, to the top of Motka above Vogošća, and then passes over Crni Vrh to the finish line.
