The aim of the Ars Aevi Project is to create an international multicultural center and museum of modern art in Sarajevo, a city that has, for centuries, been a meeting place for East and West, amidst an atmosphere of mutual love and respect. Artists from all over the world have donated their works of art in order to build up a collection for this museum. The building has been designed by the Italian architect, Renzo Piano, and the founders hope that construction will be completed by 2018.

This peace project has developed as an expression of an international collective will and transcends racial, religious and national differences, while also aspiring to promote the Balkans in a positive light.
