First reconstruction phase of Vraca Memorial Park completed

The eternal flame that had been burning for years at Vraca Memorial Park as a symbol of the struggleagainst fascism has again been reignited after 27 years.

The flame was first lit in 1981, when this site first opened, and it continued to burn up until 1992, when the Siege of Sarajevo began.

The lighting of the flame completes the first phase of renovation work being done at the memorial park, which also includes the removal of graffiti and fixing up the access points to the central part of the complex.

During the second phase, the section around the monument dedicated to Radojka Lakić should also be fixed up. This includes the statue of a young girl with her arms raised, which is one of the symbols of the Vraca Memorial Park Complex.
