New Linden Trees Planted Along Ambassadors’ Alley

To date, 159 linden tree saplings have been planted along Ambassadors’ Alley, including those planted by His Excellency Andrzej Krawczyk, His Excellency Petr Ivantsov and His Excellency Heinrich Maurer, who serve as the Ambassadors of Poland, the Russian Federation and the Swiss Confederation, respectively, as well as His Excellency Valentin Inzko, High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Bentbaša-Dariva walking avenue became Ambassadors’ Alley twelve years ago, following an initiative made by the Head of Stari Grad Municipality. The linden saplings were planted personally by the many ambassadors who have spent time in BiH and each tree has a sign indicating the name of the high-ranking official who planted it.

This eight-kilometer long walking area is the oldest of its kind in Sarajevo. Located in the Miljacka River Canyon, it is closed to motor traffic and provides a quiet and peaceful place to walk along the river. This makes it an ideal destination for visitors who would like to take a stroll from Bentbaša to Dariva and Kozija Ćuprija (Goat Bridge).
