Mr. De Niro will serve as the presenter for the Festival's opening film, Martin Scorsese’s cult classic, Taxi Driver, which will be shown in a fully restored version in honor of its 40th anniversary. The film will be shown simultaneously at both the National Theater and the Summer Cinema venue, and De Niro will receive his award in front of 3,000 film lovers.
This distinguished actor will have a chance to talk about his career during a special conversation at the National Theater. Mike Goodridge, former editor of the prestigious Screen International magazine and current director of the London-based Protagonist Pictures, will moderate the event, which is aimed at festival goers and members of the media. Goodridge is also one of the selectors for the Sarajevo Film Festival’s Kinoscope Program.
The Heart of Sarajevo Award was designed by the French designer and director, Agnès B, who is also a Festival sponsor.
