Sarajevo Bypass now fully operational

The Butile interchange, which is part of the Sarajevo Bypass and Corridor 5C, is now open to traffic. It has been constructed as part of the Jošanica-Butile Interchangesection and connected to a highway, which will make traveling through this part of the city faster.

The Butile Loop was designed as a three-tiered loop which ensures the smooth flow of traffic in the following directions: the Sarajevo Bypass that moves in the direction of Zenica-Mostar – the Sarajevo entrance/exit in the direction of Zenica and the Sarajevo entrance/exit in the direction of Mostar.

So it is now possible to access the A-1 Highway, the route of the Briješće Roundabout that moves toward the A-1 Highway, as well as the section of the A-1 Highway-Briješće Roundabout. The section of the Sarajevo Bypass LOT-2 has two subsections: Lot-2A (Butile Interchange-Briješće) and LOT-2B (Briješće-Stup).

The loop is made up of four ramps (A,B,C and D) and the entry ramps that go toward Briješće span a total of two kilometers.

The total length of LOT-2A is approximately four kilometers and the open section of the full-profile highway is about 3 kilometers long. LOT-2B has two separate roads with two lanes each which have a total length of about 500 meters.
