Work of great contemporary Italian artist Michelangelo Pistoletto, named ‘Place of Multi-Religious and Temporal Meditation’, which belongs to Ars Aevi Art Depot in Sarajevo is now exhibited in Historical Museum of BiH.

Pistoletto’s work had been originally intended to be unveiled in Jerusalem.

However, after visiting Sarajevo on three occasions in the past, Pistoletto decided to donate his work to Sarajevo - as a place of inter-religious, inter-ethnic and international dialogue.

Michelangelo Pistoletto was the first artist to donate his work ‘La porta dello Specchio/The Door of the Mirror’ for the contemporary art collection ‘Ars Aevi’ in 1994, as well as the first artist who held an individual exhibition in Sarajevo in the Art Gallery of BiH in 2001.

Pistoletto is widely regarded as one of the main representatives of the Italian Arte Povera (‘Poor Art’). His work mainly deals with the subject matter of reflection and the unification of art and everyday life.
