The project, “People of Sarajevo”, shows photographs of interesting people from the streets of Sarajevo, while photo-exhibition "The Balkan Route" introduces the public to the harsh reality of migrants. Both exhibits are open at June 5th.
Photo blog “People of Sarajevo” of the Sarajevo photographer, Imrana Kapetanović first got started in November 2013 and is based on Brandon Stanton’s Humans of New York, which presented portraits of New Yorkers, along with short profiles.
Imrana says that the subjects she chooses for her photographs are people who attract her attention in some way and she makes special mention of her grandmother, Minka, better known as Skojevka Minka. Her photo was exhibited on November 25, 2013, and her interesting story attracted attention not just in BiH, but also in the region.
“People of Sarajevo” is an ongoing project which is developing to thematic albums.
We recommend that you visit the People of Sarajevo Facebook page – take a look at the photos, read the interesting stories about our city’s residents and get to know some interesting Sarajevans.
Second exhibit by Marko Đurica talks about migrant crisis.
Since the beginning of the migrant crisis, especially after the situation intensified in 2015. - Civil Rights Defenders (CRD) has made records of violations of human rights of migrants in the countries of the so-called "Balkan route". Exhibition has to goal to introduce the public to the harsh reality migrants are living in, and show how their human rights are massively violated.
