Second Austrian Ball

Following the great success of the First Austrian Ball in the Sarajevo City Hall in May of last year, the 12th May 2018 will see another true Austrian Ball dedicated to the friendship between Austria and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Ball will be organised for around 800 - 1.000 guests from the fields of politics, business, culture and media, but primarily for the lovers of Austrian music and dance culture.

Once more, the citizens of Sarajevo, as well as tourists and international guests will be offered a high-quality cultural event. The cities of Sarajevo, Vienna and Graz, as well as the provinces of Styria and Salzburg and many sponsors have recognised the significance of this unique event and have given it their support.

The ball night starts at 8:00 p.m. (the opening of the City Hall; the official opening programme starts at 9:00 p.m.) and ends at 4:30 a.m.

The famous Vienna Opera Ball Orchestra will be playing again, and the Carinthian Military Band, Tango Trio Eudiates from East Sarajevo, the entertainer and pianist Robert Werner and many other pianists, DJs and many other musicians from the region will add to the programme in five different halls - from Viennese waltzing to Latin dances. 

To make the event interesting even for those who don’t dance, the ball night, starting with the festive opening by the Ball committee, will be filled with many attractions and interludes every hour - a folk dance group from Austria / Salzburg, a czardas ensemble from Hungary / Székesfehérvár, the folk dance group “Baščaršija” from Sarajevo, the ballet school Bellarte, also from Sarajevo, including operetta interludes by the Austrian soloists Brigitta Simon and Thomas Weinhappel and the midnight quadrille led by Austrian dance master Heinz Heidenreich.

Additionally, a Viennese Café, a magician, rich buffets, including drinks, wine from Austria and Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as many other surprises will provide good entertainment and culinary delights. As last year, there will be a high-quality Ball booklet and presents for the ladies at the end of the night!
