Teferič (The Party) is a comedy directed by Aleš Kurt and based on the work by Derviš Sušić.

While set in a small village during the time of Ottoman rule here in this part of the world, the play shows the relationship between ruling authorities and the people and still applies today.

What makes this work so timeless is that it resonates perfectly with our own times, with rulers and their (non) existent relationship with their “subjects”, informants and low level administrators who are willing to do anything to please those in power, as well as bribery, corruption and the unusual nepotism, all of which is indestructible and untarnished by time and has remained the same as it was several centuries ago.
