Follow cultural and music events online during the Covid-19 crisis

Digital technologies enabled cultural workers and musicians to help us fulfill the day with interesting content in times of home isolation.

After the decision made by The Federal Department of Civil Protection all planned events were canceled in Sarajevo. Now, theater workers, musicians and bands decided to use digital technologies to bring theater performances and good music to our homes and help us ease the current situation, by organizing live broadcasts.

Below is a list of events you can follow online in the coming days:


Dubioza kolektiv / Dubioza Kolektiv Quarantine Show

Every Monday at 8:30 pm

Members of this popular BiH band that live in 3 different countries, 5 different cities and 7 different locations will play a set of 20 minutes each Monday from their homes.

You can follow these digital concerts on YouTube channel, as well as on Facebook page and other profiles of Dubioza Kolektiv on social networks.

The Garden of Dreams project team will ensure that electronic music lovers fill the time in isolation with quality content. We expect only the best from them and this time they are presenting a new project Garden of Dreams Presents, which will introduce the capital of BiH through video and music performance in the first episode.

The well-known DJ's Bonjasky and G. Edd are in charge of the music, while the video content is created by the Sarajevo based video production team Kolektiv.

Mravko Travko

Every Sunday at 12 pm.

Singer Latif Močević and happy ant Mravko Travko will hold an online concert for the youngest every Sunday to brighten up their days at home.

Helem Nejse Radio Show

Sarajevan band Helem Nejse first attracted attention with a “collage” show of the same name that hit the airwaves in 2014 on Otvorena Mreža radio.

During isolation time, you can watch their show every Sunday from 10:00 pm on their Facebook Page and YouTube Channel.

Ode to Joy

The Sarajevo Opera Choir of National Theatre collaborated with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra "The New Symphony Vienna" to record the famous Beethoven's "Ninth Symphony - Ode to Joy" and mark the 250th anniversary of the birth of Ludwig van Beethoven. You can see the recording at this link.

Umjetnost u izlogu / Isolation Art / Milomir Kovačević Strašni

Artists were always finding ways to present their works regardless of prohibitions, and even though the COVID-19 virus pandemic also caused the galleries to close, the Association of Applied Artists and Designers of BiH decided to use digital technology and present a new form of exhibiting - Isolation Art.

The first event in this new form will be an exhibit of photographs "Innocent Saints" by a world renowned photographer and winner of the April 6th Award given by the City of Sarajevo, Milomir Kovačević Strašni.

The opening of the online exhibit was held on Friday, April 3 at 8:00 pm, and you can see the photos on ULUPUBiH's Facebook page.

Historical Museum of BiH

Employees of the Historical Museum of BiH have made an effort to present some of the treasures kept by this museum in digital form while the doors of the museum have been closed due to the COVID-19 virus pandemic.

Thus, we have the opportunity to see a virtual exhibit of the works of maestro Safet Zec from the Zagrljaji Collection, which was opened at the Historical Museum of BiH on November 25 (BiH National Day), last year.

They have also prepared an interesting Fairy Tale about the Museum Kingdom for the youngest, and this fairy tale and all digital exhibits can be viewed on the Museum's Facebook page.

This Museum will also organize a virtual opening of the "Was ist Walter?" exhibit on April 6 at 8 pm as a gift to citizens for April 6, Sarajevo City Day.

The exhibition presents a critical journey through Sarajevo's history through the story of Vladimir Perić Walter, leader of the Sarajevo resistance movement during WWII, who was killed on the night of April 5 during the final battle for the city’s liberation.

National Museum of BiH

Part of the rich collection of the National Museum of BiH, which has about 3 million objects, can be viewed on their Facebook page.

In addition to the museum exhibits, there are various presentations of the Night in the Museum workshops, interactive games, promotion of 3D objects, calendar of important dates ...


The Collegium artisticum Gallery, on the occasion of April 6th Sarajevo City Day, is this year presenting a digital presentation of the awarded works of the traditional selective exhibition "COLLEGIUM ARTISTICUM" in the period 2016-2019.                      Selected works can be seen on this link.


Memory module

The Jubilee, 25th edition of the Memory Module Festival will be held from April 6th to May 9th. As some of the planned events are delayed until further notice, part of the festival program will be held through online platforms and social networks.

Thus, the video exhibition of photographer Velija Hasanbegović, "Migrant Abbas", was opened on April 6, and it can be viewed on the official Facebook page and  Youtube channel of the MESS Festival.

On April 8, from 8 pm, at the same YouTube channel will be presented an evening of short films.

On this occasion, the audience will have the opportunity to watch documentaries: "Apart", by Palestinian director Sami Shehade, "Sabah", by Bosnian director Danis Tanović and "In the Air", by Bosnian director Jasmila Žbanić.

The online promotion of the book "Theater under Siege" by Hana Bajrović can be viewed on May 9 at 7 pm, again on the official facebook pages of the festival and the Sarajevo National Theater.

Events in the region: MOJOFF (March 27 - April 10)

Film distributor MCF MegaCom Film will realize the project of the first online film festival from March 27 to April 10, and citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro will have the opportunity to watch feature films and documentaries on the internet portal

MOJOFF opens Roman Polanski's "An Officer and a Spy", and movie art lovers will also enjoy award-winning films from renowned festivals such as those in Cannes, Venice or Berlin.
