Things to do in Sarajevo from January 17 to 23

While the holiday euphoria has subsided a bit in Sarajevo, snowy January is full of different events, and here we recommend the most interesting ones taking place from January 17 to 23.

On Thursday, January 17, be sure to attend the opening of the exhibit by Indira Kučuk Sorguč, Sarajevan Women on the Canvases of BiH Painters, which will be on display at the Brusa Bezistan Museum until February 28.

Rustem Pasha, Grand Vizier to Sulejman the Magnificent, had this covered market (Brusa Bezistan) built in the heart of Baščaršija in 1551, and it is now home to an annex of the Museum of Sarajevo, which houses a permanent display of items that span the periods from prehistory all the way to the time of Austro-Hungarian rule in Sarajevo.

If you are fascinated by the secrets of the universe, join the ORION Astronomical Society Team this Thursday at Save Skarića 2 as they organize an interactive lecture, Mythology of the Constellations.

Whether you spend Saturday, January 19 in the city or up on the mountains, there will be various events for you to choose from: concerts, live gigs, parties, plays….

If you love the fusion of classical and rock music, don’t miss a spectacular performance by Rock Symphony at Coloseum on Saturday. If you decide to spend Saturday on some of our mountains, you can catch Croatian DJ Nesho performing up on Babin Do as part of the Telemach Winterhana Market & Fun Zone. His shows are a combination of different genres (soul, funk, disco, Latin, house, hip-hop, jazz...).

You can warm up the next day (Sunday, January 20) on snowy Babin Do with some music by the BiH electronic music duo, After Affair, with DJ Bonjasky (Bojan Jović) and Ivan Z (Ivan Zrno).
