New bicycle parking spot installed in the center of Sarajevo

A third bicycle parking spot has been installed in the center of town as part of a joint project by the association, Giro di Sarajevo, and Centar Municipality. The parking area is located at the intersection of Čemaluša Street and Branilaca Sarajeva, near the Bosnian Cultural Center.

The parking area is intended for short-term parking and can accommodate 20 bikes. It is constructed out of "A-glass", which is an enhanced version of "U-glass", and represents the first use of this material in Sarajevo. When used correctly with a U-lock, A-glass provides a high degree of security from bicycle theft and vandalism. Another appeal of this parking spot is that it is located within easy reach of the city's main walking zone, Ferhadija Street.

The other two bicycle parking areas in Centar Municipality are found next to BBI Center, at the intersection of Mis Irbina and Radićeva, and behind the Cathedral of Jesus' Sacred Heart, on Mula Mustafa Bašeskije St. (right across from the tram stop).

Authors of this project are members of Giro di Sarajevo: Amina Sokolović and Damir Margeta.
