Bijelo Dugme

Concert

29 Dec / 14:00
  1. |

The legendary Sarajevo band, Bijelo Dugme, will be giving a big concert on Bjelašnica (Dec. 29) to mark the start of winter and 35 years since the 1984 WOG.

Founded in 1974 by Sarajevo musician Goran Bregović, it was one of the most popular rock bands in this part of the world, and singers like Željko Bebek, Mladen “Tifa” Vojičić, Alen Islamović, as well as many other musicians, passed through it over the years.

The group put out nine studio albums, three concert albums and many compilations. After it broke up in 1989, Bregović entered the world of movie music, and in 1998 he founded his Orchestra for Weddings & Funerals, which plays traditional ethno music from the Balkans.

Since 2005, members of Bijelo Dugme have occasionally played to sold-old concerts worldwide, and Mladen “Tifa” Vojčić, Alen Islamović and Goran Bregović (+ orchestra) will perform at Babin Do.

BiH DJs will start warming up the crowd at 4:00 p.m., and the Let’s Go to the Mountains concert (taken from the cult Bijelo Dugme promo song for the ‘84 WOG) begins at 6:00 p.m.

Free entrance.
