  1. |

Michelangelo Pistoletto, Italian artist and a leading figure of the Arte Povera (Poor Art) Movement for the past 60 years, will be staying in Sarajevo where he will present his work, Third Heaven on June 2.

The artist will give a public lecture at the Dom Mladih Amphitheater/Ars Aevi Art Depot. Manuela Gandini, a contemporary art critic, will serve as event curator.

There will be a performance by students from Tuzla, Banja Luka, Mostar and Sarajevo on the same day on the plaza in front of KSC Skenderija.

Pistoletto was the first international artist to donate his work to Ars Aevi’s collection of contemporary art, thereby promoting its international standing.

One work to be included is La Porta Dello Specchio (The Mirror Door) from the Milan Collection, as arranged by Enrico Comi.

Pistoletto will also be the first artist to launch the third developmental phase for the Ars Aevi collection, which envisages the inclusion of monumental pieces among urban structures and in public spaces throughout town. The work that has been selected for this purpose is Luogo di Raccoglimento Multiconfessionale e Laico (A Place for Multicultural and Lay Encounter).
