Romeo and Juliet

The fact that Shakespeare’s works are timeless is well illustrated by the choice 50 high schoolers from Maribor have made in putting on a musical production of this famous love story. The 3rd Annual Juventafest will open with their performance.

The story is told by making use of modern visual code and the songs sung by the actors are interpretations of some great pop-rock hits, such as "Wake Me Up When September Ends", "What Is Youth", "Do You Love Me?"…, all of which convey Shakespeare’s words in a seductive and charming, yet thoughtful way. This has the effect of bringing the text closer to those who have interpreted it and to the audiences who will watch it during festival.

The production will include English subtitles and will last over two hours.
