A collection of autobiographical, stream-of-consciousness essays by Aleksandar Hemon, a transatlantic Sarajevan residing in Chicago.
He talks about the innocence of growing up in the streets of Sarajevo, maturing and facing the horrors of everday life in Chicago and in America - the land of dreams.
In an almost Rashomonian manner, Hemon discusses the war through a projection of stories told by his friends, parents and acquaintances, as well as through his personal observations and remarks. He also touches the core of many things that those stakeholders and contractors of war may not have been aware of.
