Week of Ruth Beckermann Movies

As part of the "Week of the Ruth Beckermann Movies" event, films of one of the most famous Austrian directorial documentaries, Ruth Beckermann will be presented to audience. Movies will be shown from March 11 until March 15 at 5 p.m.

Following movies will be shown: Jenseits Des Krieges/East Of War/S one strane rata, American Passages, Those Who Go Those Who Stay/Oni koji odlaze, oni koji ostaju, Die Geträumten/The Dreamed Ones/Sanjani, and Waldheims Walzer/The Waldheim Waltz/Waldheimov valcer.

On the March 15, movie will be shown at Academy of Fine Arts.

Director Ruth Beckermann was born in Vienna, where she also spent her childhood. She studied journalism and art history in Vienna, Tel Aviv and New York, and in 1977 she obtained a doctoral degree at the University of Vienna. After that she worked as a journalist for various magazines in Austria and Switzerland. In 1978, with two colleagues, she founded a film distribution company called "filmladen", in which she worked for seven years. During this period, her first films and her first books were created. Since 1985 he has been working as a writer and director.
