Aždaja

A special screening of the short film, Aždaja, by Ivan Ramadan, based on the legend of the aždaja, a mountain dragon from the village of Umoljani, will be shown at Meeting Point Cinema. Movie is a mix of 3D animation techniques and live action.

For centuries, a ritual has been taking place every spring in a small Bosnian village that is hidden among the rugged mountains, where people live their lives in harmony with nature. The ritual invokes the Great Dragon – the protector and unifier. Just as time passes and everything inevitably changes, the power of the ritual begins to wane.

The village is no longer hidden and protected and new influences now come and go, along with new beliefs and new divinities.

Admission is free and, after the screening, there will be a chance to speak with members of the film crew and to socialize over cocktails.
