Exhibition will be open from May 16 until May 30. Thomas Steyaert, born in Roeselare, Belgium in 1978 is a movement artist based in Sarajevo and Brussels.
He did several projects with Ultima Vez/Wim Vandekeybus and made various stage- and site specific works around Europe and abroad. Together with Raul Maia, he develops an artistic practise that explores the multiple output potentiality of a system of non-representational physical communication between performers. Until now the work resulted in two stage performances, in several video-works and teaching. Thomas recently founded ‘Moving Island’, a Belgian-Bosnian collective of artists with the focus on socially engaged artistic work. Thomas is also active in other media such as painting/drawing, photography and music.
