The Sarajevo International Festival – Sarajevska Zima, one of the city’s most important cultural events, will take place this year from February 7 to March 21.

The first edition of the festival was held in honor of the XIV Winter Olympics, which were held in Sarajevo in 1984, and over the past 33 years Sarajevska Zima has grown into a symbol of freedom, creativity and a way to get acquainted with cultures.

The motto of this year’s festival is Sarajevo Substance – Silk Art Road.

The day-long opening ceremony will offer an interesting program, including a meeting between artists and members of the media at the National Museum of BiH, an exhibition by Mirjana and Boris Čistopoljski at Roman Petrović Gallery, an exhibit entitled “Diversity, Creativity and Community” in the foyer of the National Theater….

The opening of this year’s Sarajevo Winter will culminate with a performance by the outstanding Indian dance troupe, Prathibha Prahlad & Dancers, at the National Theater, which will serve as the perfect introduction to this nearly two-month-long arts holiday.

The festival program will include exhibitions, concerts, plays, film screenings and performances and events will be taking place at different venues throughout Sarajevo.
