Sarajevo's most important festival is certainly Sarajevo Film Festival, which has become one of the most important regional cultural events and among the most important European film festivals.

Each August, Sarajevo becomes a meeting place for film professionals from all over the world. Walking the red carpet laid in front of the National Theatre are some of the biggest movie stars, and the audience has the opportunity to enjoy the most recent film creations.

Especially significant are theatre festival MESS, which takes place in October, and Jazz Fest Sarajevo, taking place at the beginning of each November and which brings top international jazz artists to Sarajevo.

International Festival – Sarajevo Winter preserves the memory of the XIV Olympic Winter Games when the festival started. It runs from early February to late March and it attracts various artists from all over the world to Sarajevo.

The newest edition is Sarajevo’s own Sarajevo Beer Fest which takes place at the beginning of each summer. Apart from the obvious beer extravaganza, this festival’s main attraction are concerts of regional music stars.

There are also a number of other smaller festivals catering to even the most particular of tastes. Surely there is something for everyone.
