After the decision made by The Federal Department of Civil Protection all planned events were canceled in Sarajevo. Now, theater workers, musicians and bands decided to use digital technologies to bring theater performances and good music to our homes and help us ease the current situation, by organizing live broadcasts.

Dubioza kolektiv / Dubioza Kolektiv Quarantine Show

Every Monday at 8:30 pm

Members of this popular BiH band that live in 3 different countries, 5 different cities and 7 different locations will play a set of 20 minutes each Monday from their homes.

MESS Festival: Program dedicated to May 2 

To mark May 2, the day when Sarajevo was defended 28 years ago, MESS Festival prepared a rich online program than can be seen at their Facebook Page. 

The first program is the documentary "It was a beautiful and sunny day", while second is a recording whose music is signed by Nedim Zlatar, and parts of the book are read by journalist Ognjen Blagojević and journalist Jasmina Đikoli.

The latest in a series of programs is the digital edition of the book "May 2, 1992. It was a Beautiful and Sunny Day", which is available to everyone on Facebook, Instagram, and Issu's MESS Festival profile.

The Garden of Dreams project team will ensure that electronic music lovers fill the time in isolation with quality content. We expect only the best from them and this time they are presenting a new project Garden of Dreams Presents, which will introduce the capital of BiH through video and music performance in the first episode.

The well-known DJ's Bonjasky and G. Edd are in charge of the music, while the video content is created by the Sarajevo based video production team Kolektiv.

The third video stream is recorded at the beautiful Valley of Heroes, located on Tjentište, at the Sutjeska National Park. 

Sutjeska is also an important historical site, for it was here that one of the bloodiest battles of WWII was fought.

FM JAM Podcast

Bosnian rapper Adnan Hamidović Frenkie is a member of FM Jam Crew, which created new podcast - video interviews during isolation. They plan to make an intervies with memebers of hip-hop scene and other interesting guests once a week.

"Don Pasquale"

The Sarajevo National Theater Opera Choir in collaboration with "No Borders Orchestra" recorded a quarantine version of the opera "Don Pasquale", which you can see here.

Ostani u gajbi - Žujine svirke

The first in a series of Žuja's virtual concerts was held on April 15 on the official Facebook page of Ožujsko beer, where you can watch a recorded performance of the Sarajevan band Starbridge.

May's Music Festivities

The Music Academy in Sarajevo started the online edition of the May's Music Festivities on May 6.

Every Sunday at 12 pm.

Singer Latif Močević and happy ant Mravko Travko will hold an online concert for the youngest every Sunday to brighten up their days at home.

Helem Nejse Radio Show

Sarajevan band Helem Nejse first attracted attention with a “collage” show of the same name that hit the airwaves in 2014 on Otvorena Mreža radio.

Ode to Joy

The Sarajevo Opera Choir of National Theatre collaborated with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra "The New Symphony Vienna" to record the famous Beethoven's "Ninth Symphony - Ode to Joy" and mark the 250th anniversary of the birth of Ludwig van Beethoven. You can see the recording at this link.

MESS Festival

As part of the #duringthisMESSmoveless campaign, as another of the online cultural content, the MESS Festival launched a digital MESS Library which started at April 16th.

The first book available was a photo-monograph by the author Hidajet Delić, "Women of besieged Sarajevo". The book is bilingual, therefore published in Bosnian and English, and is available here.

On May 7 at 9:00 pm, you can watch live session of Palestinian Sami Shehade, the author of the movie "Separated," which aired on this year's #ModuleMemory.

ASSOCIATION OF APPLIED ARTISTS AND DESIGNERS OF BIH
Umjetnost u izlogu / Isolation Art / Andrej Đerković

Artists were always finding ways to present their works regardless of prohibitions, and even though the COVID-19 virus pandemic also caused the galleries to close, the Association of Applied Artists and Designers of BiH decided to use digital technology and present a new form of exhibiting - Isolation Art.

Second event in this new form is an exhibit of photographs "Circusplatz (2013/2020)" by photographer Andrej Đerković.

MUSEUMS

Historical Museum of BiH

Employees of the Historical Museum of BiH have made an effort to present some of the treasures kept by this museum in digital form while the doors of the museum have been closed due to the COVID-19 virus pandemic.

Thus, we have the opportunity to see a virtual exhibit of the works of maestro Safet Zec from the Zagrljaji Collection, which was opened at the Historical Museum of BiH on November 25 (BiH National Day), last year.

They have also prepared an interesting Fairy Tale about the Museum Kingdom for the youngest, and this fairy tale and all digital exhibits can be viewed on the Museum's Facebook page.

This Museum will also organize a virtual opening of the "Was ist Walter?" exhibit on April 6 at 8 pm as a gift to citizens for April 6, Sarajevo City Day.

The exhibition presents a critical journey through Sarajevo's history through the story of Vladimir Perić Walter, leader of the Sarajevo resistance movement during WWII, who was killed on the night of April 5 during the final battle for the city’s liberation.

National Museum of BiH

Part of the rich collection of the National Museum of BiH, which has about 3 million objects, can be viewed on their Facebook page.

COLLEGIUM ARTISTICUM

The Collegium artisticum Gallery, on the occasion of April 6th Sarajevo City Day, is this year presenting a digital presentation of the awarded works of the traditional selective exhibition "COLLEGIUM ARTISTICUM" in the period 2016-2019.

Pravo Ljudski Fim Festival

Pravo Ljudski Film Festival presents an online program called "Our Habitats". The program raises a discussion about how much a return to the former "normality" is desirable at all, as the global pandemic functions "like a chemical experiment that suddenly shed light on all the hidden flaws of a crumbling system."

In the week of April 15 - 21, the Festival presents the program Our Habitats - Water, and the opening is on April 15 at 6:00 pm on the official Vimeo channel and Facebook page of the Pravo Ljudski Film Festival.

In the week of April 22 - 27, the Festival presents the program Our Habitats - Retrospective, by Ursula Biemann and Carlos Casas, on the official Vimeo channel and Facebook page of the Pravo Ljudski Film Festival.

Events in the region: EXIT TV 

The popular EXIT Music Festival, held in Novi Sad (Serbia) during the summer, during the Covid-19 pandemic, broadcasts recordings of performances by regional and international musicians who have performed on it in previous years.

A special EXIT TV program airs every night at 8:20 pm on the festival's Facebook page, where you can watch recordings of musicians including: Carl Cox, Green Velvet, Chris Liebing, Maceo Plex, Gossip, Tom Odell, Catz n Dogz, Cock Sparrer, Kid Kimi and Fabrizio Rat.
