After receiving the Council of Europe Museum Prize 2018 under the European Museum of the Year scheme, the War Childhood Museum has now received a special recognition in the selection for the best Slavic museum.

2019/10/04

The Forum of Slavic Cultures organizes the selection for the Živa Award – the award for the best museum from 13 Slavic countries (Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Poland, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Ukraine).

Every year the Forum organizes a conference at which museums and institutions from the Slavic world present their work and best museums receive their awards. The expert panel of judges consists of museum professionals from Slavic countries and the European Museum Academy representatives. This year’s conference was held in Bar, Montenegro under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture of Montenegro.

The new international award confirms the quality of work that the War Childhood Museum has been doing, as well as its continuous contribution to the promotion of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the world.
