You can find several kinds of pita at this eatery, from the must-try burek (meat pie), krompiruša (potato pie), sirnica (cheese pie) and zeljanica (spinach pie), to buredžici, tikvenica, kljukuša, etc. Oklagija’s specialty is heljdopita, pie made from buckwheat flour, four kinds of cheeses, locally produced eggs, sour cream and kajmak (rich cream cheese). There are also a few varieties of pita that are made from whole-wheat flour.
In Sarajevo, pita is usually eaten plain, without any toppings, and it’s good to have some yoghurt with your meal. We make special mention of ayran, a salty yoghurt drink.
The interior of Oklagija Buregdžinica has old Bosnian motifs, such as traditional seating units, carpets and stools that complement the wooden elements.
This eatery is located in the center of town, on Šenoina Street, not far from the National Theater and BBI Center.
