The largest coffee džezva (pot) in the world was on display in front of Sebilj and guests were served with Bosnian coffee.
Also at the Square, along the wall of Baščaršija Mosque’s courtyard, there was an exhibit of photos that show Baščaršija Square from the 19th century to today. There will be scenes of Čaršija from 1890, back when traders would bring their goods on horseback, as well as the market that used to be where Trgovke is today, the open and unpaved spot on the Square, yellow bricks that were used during the time of Austro-Hungarian rule and other scenes all the way up to the current day.
Many business owners from Baščaršija have been involved in the official opening of the new Baščaršija Square and they have all contributed, in their own way, to making this day a special one. The reconstruction of the Square has involved changing underground installations, laying new stone blocks and putting up new LED lights. The town clock has also been reinstalled.
