Visitors may ask for this special gift when exchanging their foreign currency for Convertible Marks at any UniCredit Bank in Sarajevo.
In addition to having the most extensive banking network in BiH, UniCredit also sets itself apart from other banks in the country by not charging commission fees on currency exchanges (except for EUR to BAM, and vice versa), as such transactions are done according to the exchange rate available the day they are carried out.
As a reminder, according to the Law on the Central Bank of BiH, the official currency of BiH is the Convertible Mark (KM is used locally and the international code is BAM).
One Convertible Mark is worth 100 fenings (F) and this currency is available in bills in denominations of 10, 20, 50, 100 and 200KM; and coins come in denominations of 5, 10, 20 and 50 fenings, as well as 1, 2, and 5KM.
There are two different printed versions for notes worth 10, 20, 50 and 100KM, one for FBiH and another for RS, while 200KM notes are printed in a single version. All bills are considered legal tender which may be used as payment anywhere within BiH.
