Skaka Barber Shop, which is located at Bravadžiluk 1 in Baščaršija, is now selling replicas of the razors that this shop has been using for centuries.

Generations of the Skaka family from Sarajevo have been working as barbers and the family trade was started by Abdulah Skaka when he came to Sarajevo around 350 years ago and opened Sarajevo’s first barber shop.

Generations of Sarajevans have had their hair cut or have gotten a shave in this shop, which exudes the smell of shaving cream and lotions.

The rustic walls of the shop are adorned with photos of members of the Skaka family who have maintained this establishment for generations and the shelves are lined with old shaving tools, making the shop a little museum and one of Sarajevo’s hidden attractions.

Sarajevo visitors can treat themselves to the unforgettable experience of getting a haircut or a shave in the shop, which is open every weekday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on weekends.

Afterwards, visitors can buy a straight razor as a memento of their stay in Sarajevo. The razor costs 50KM and comes in a luxurious wooden box and has Sarajevo and Skaka Barber Shop written on it.
