Compared to 2014, the rate of growth for international visitors coming to BiH in 2015 increased by 29%, and other countries in the region have also seen positive figures: Montenegro – 23%, Slovenia and Serbia – 13% (each), Macedonia – 12% and Croatia – 10%.

This strong annual growth of arrivals to BiH has been attributed to the diverse offering from varioustourism-oriented sectors, from the development of health and wellness tourism, to the rich culture and history, culinary offerings, kind citizens and gorgeous nature.

All of these factors are reasons why BiH and Sarajevo have often been included on lists through the years, compiled by such prestigious media outlets as Lonely Planet, National Geographic and The New York Times, which suggest places to visit.
