Sarajevo International Airport to Expand Capacity

Given how attractive Destination Sarajevo is, more travelers are making their way to BiH’s capital city. This has led to new flights being introduced and the Sarajevo International Airport is expanding its capacity.

In addition to the current reconstruction taking place in both terminals, the airport continues to work on improving services in order to successfully accommodate more passengers. The aim is to increase capacity for arrival areas, passport control, as well as counters for traveler registration.

A total of 42,567 travelers and 713 flights passed through the Sarajevo International Airport in February of this year and a larger number of passengers and flights is expected at the beginning of the summer season. During this period there are many chartered flights for countries that are visited by BiH nationals. 

The following airlines still offer flights to and from Sarajevo’s airport: Eurowings, Turkish Airlines, Lufthansa, Air Serbia, Croatia Airlines, Pegasus, Austrian Airlines, FlyDubai, Adria Airways, Swiss i Norwegian. Starting in March and September of this year, flights will be available from Air Arabia and Qatar Airways, respectively.
