The winner was among 21 finalists and selected by a jury comprised of music professionals from Germany, Norway, Great Britain, the Netherlands and Slovenia. They described Sarajevo Jazz Fest as a festival that has masterfully combined inspirational music with the creation of a strong community around the event.

The award will be made official during the 6th Annual European Jazz Conference, which will be held in Novara, Italy in September 2019. It will then be presented during an official ceremony that will take place in Sarajevo during the 23rd Annual Jazz Fest (November 7-10).

This is Europe Jazz Network's eighth year of giving this prestigious award to European festivals, concert halls and clubs that organize music programs.
