The recreation area, Barice, is seven kilometers from the center of Sarajevo.

The main reason why it is one of Sarajevo's most popular picnic areas is that it is close to the center and is connected by a regular minibus line which leaves the ”Park” stop in the center of town (on Koševo Street), and runs several times a day on weekends and holidays, plus there’s the fact that it offers a spectacular view of the city.

In addition to the wonderful nature that is crisscrossed by the many trails that are ideal for walking and biking, there are also a few restaurants where visitors can enjoy some delicious local specialties.
