Type: Around Sarajevo
The mountain lodge, Bijele Vode (1,451 m), is located about 35 km southwest of Sarajevo on the outskirts of Mt. Bjelašnica.
It is located on Hojte Ridge, which runs between Bjelašnica and Treskavica, and is 5 km from Maršal Hotel (on Bjelašnica), which can be reached by taking the paved road, and hiking enthusiasts can trek from the hotel to the lodge by following the marked path through the forest.
There is a spring next to the lodge and it is an ideal starting point for outings or a great spot to rest during tours around Bjelašnica, Visočica or Treskavica.
The lodge has its own parking, a hall that can seat 50 and there are 25 beds available for overnight stays. While Bijele Vode welcomes guests year-round, it is advisable to let them know that you plan to visit, especially larger groups.
The Željezničar Mountaineering Club, which runs the lodge and organizes the popular Vučko Trail Race, has worked with Terra Dinarica in marking the path from the lodge to the village, Umoljani, on Bjelašnica. This allows for safe hiking along this stretch of the path.
