Top events in Sarajevo from March 28 to April 3

The period from March 28 to April 3 in Sarajevo is full of different events, and here we recommend the most interesting ones.

Masterpieces of Iranian cinematography are on Cinema City Multiplex's repertoire on Thursday and Friday (March 28-29) as part of the Week of Iranian Film.

The cult Belgrade rock group, Partibrejkers, will play at Cinemas Sloga on Friday, March 29; and techno fans will enjoy themselves that same night at Dom Mladih, where SNTS’ DJ and producer, Insolate, will be performing.

Saturday, March 30 is chock-full of interesting events.

Youngsters will enjoy Sunnyland, which is organizing its Pirate Party treasure hunt at noon, followed by a big party in the outdoor play area.

At 7:00 p.m. that evening, FK Sarajevo will greet HŠK Zrinjski at Asim Ferhatović Hase Stadium as part of the 24th round of the BH Telecom Premier League of BiH.

This Saturday at Kamerni Theater 55 you can follow the live stream performance of Die Walküre by the New York Metropolitan Opera.

One of the most popular stand-up comedians in the region, Neša Bridžis of Serbia, will have you laughing at Coloseum Club.

You can spend Saturday evening attending some live performances, like the gig by Banja Luka cover band GingerSide at Aquarius Vils, or the performance by Sarajevo musician Gordan Dizdarević Grk at YU Caffe.

Boundary, a metal band from Vienna, and Cacafuego, a rock band from Goražde, will play at Jazzbina Sarajevo for the party called Overdose of Sin.

If you happen to prefer electronic music, Slovenian DJ Marco Trafficante (aka Marquee) and Sarajevo DJ A Skitzo will be coming to Silver & Smoke for you on Saturday, and DJ Jasmina from Sarajevo will be responsible for the music at Opera Cafe Bar.

Sunday, March 31 is a great day for a special brunch at 4 Sobe Gospođe Safije with a performance by the terrific Film Music Orchestra from Croatia.

The Comedy Festival, Laughter is Medicine (Smijeh je Lijek), will get underway at the Center for Culture and Youth for Municipality Centar Sarajevo on Monday, April 1 and will continue until April 6. The festival opens on Monday with the play, Ćiro, starring Croatian actor Tarik Filipović. This piece takes a comic look at moments in the life of Ćiro Blažević, the well-known football coach.

And on Wednesday, April 3, don't miss the play, Plastika, at Dom Mladih.
