Type: Cultural Center
The Dobrinja Center for Culture – Vila Hadžihalilovića is housed in what used to be a summer residence for the prominent Hadžihalilović family from Sarajevo. It was built in the 1920s in a village that is now the Sarajevo neighborhood of Dobrinja.
The building has been included on the list of protected cultural monuments of BiH. As it was on the front line during the last war, it suffered major damage. Renovation got underway in 2006 and the Vila was opened to the public in June 2008.
The center covers 220m2 and regularly hosts arts events – exhibitions, film screenings, concerts, plays, book promotions, literary evenings, public forums… – for all generations.
The center has a library, a social hall and a cafe-reading room that serves drinks at reasonable prices. Visitors may make use of the selection of daily and weekly newspapers, magazines from BiH and other countries in the region and books.
