Sarajevo is the perfect city to visit during the winter months, whether you are celebrating the holidays in town, or enjoying some mulled wine in front of a hotel fireplace and hitting the slopes up on the surrounding Olympic Mountains.
November treated us to pleasant temperatures for this time of year. There were hardly any rainy days, so you used the nice weather to go for walks, go on excursions and spend time in nature. You continue to find inexhaustible sources of creativity for your photos in the city’s rich architecture, and this month we enjoyed your photos of lovely Sarajevo streets.
That Sarajevo occupies an area that has long been inhabited is testified to by the many remains left by the Butmir Civilization, Illyrians, Romans, the medieval Slavic state.... And, from the very moment when the Ottoman military leader, Isa Bey Ishaković, laid Sarajevo's foundations around 1460, the town continued to grow, absorbing and ultimately reflecting the various influences it has been subjected to over the centuries.
